Light and Salt Association's  services include health insurance, government welfare application, Cancer Support Network, Health Center, Special Needs Care Center, free tax filing (VITA), Disaster Response Center, and Joy Day Care Center. To aid those with cancer, we offer free screenings and support, assist in applying for suitable healthcare and benefits, providing language assistance and psychological support. For children with special needs and their families, we offer diverse support, aiming to create an environment that fosters growth and development.

Joy Program

Joy Program

Joy Program launches on May 1, 2023, offering diverse activities to support the mental and physical well-being of mildly cognitively or physically impaired individuals. Initially free, subsequent costs will be adjusted based on individual needs.

Health Insurance and Benefit Application Center

Health Insurance and Benefit Application Center


LSA Services helps clients apply for health insurance and government welfare programs, including Medicaid, Medicare, and SNAP, since 2014. They offer multilingual in-person and online application services as certified marketplace navigators.

Light and Salt Health Center

Light and Salt Health Center

The Light and Salt Health Center is a patient-focused charity clinic providing medical services in general, obstetrics, and cardiology for those without insurance or with high deductibles. An outpatient registration fee of US$30 is charged to bridge gaps in the current healthcare system.

VITA(TAX)

VITA(TAX)

Since 2021, LSA has partnered with the IRS to offer free tax filing services, VITA, for low-income, elderly, disabled, and limited-English-proficient individuals. Trained volunteers provide free tax advice and assistance to alleviate the burden of hiring professional tax consultants.

Disaster Relief Center

Disaster Relief Center


Disaster Relief Center, guided by Christian love, is committed to providing assistance such as rescue, nursing, cleaning, and repairs. It collaborates with organizations and churches to enhance disaster preparedness. Its vision is to establish five regional alliances in the greater Houston area, working with 40 Chinese churches to respond to disasters like hurricanes, tornadoes, and floods.

Special Needs Caring Center

Established in 2008, the Special Needs Care Center is dedicated to supporting children, adults, and families with special needs through seminars, support groups, education, and vocational training. Holding Texas Adult Education Certification, it aims to enhance life skills and job opportunities, seeking community support and volunteer involvement

Cancer Support

Cancer Support


In 2001,LSA established the Cancer Patient Care Network to address the challenges faced by Chinese cancer patients, offering culturally tailored support groups to enhance their quality of life. In 2007, the first Chinese breast cancer support group in Houston was established, dedicated to serving breast cancer patients and raising cancer awareness in the community.
