The Joy Adult Day Program

Introduction

The Light and Salt Association established the The Joy Adult Day Program on May 1, 2023, providing a brand new community resource for friends with mild dementia and mild physical and mental disabilities. We believe that through various activities such as art, music, sports, and social activities, we can improve the physical and mental health of patients, enrich their spiritual life, and provide encouragement and support to more patients and family members. Our service hours are every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:30 am to 2:30 pm, and the event will be held at the venue of The Light and Salt Association. During the first three months of the event, participation is free, and after July, fees will vary according to individual needs. These activities not only help attendees recover physically and mentally, but also promote social interaction and a sense of belonging to the community. If you are interested in our adult physical and mental health activity center, please be sure to sign up with The Light and Salt Office. We look forward to your joining and work with you to create a healthy, happy and vibrant community.

There are many benefits to participating in a wellness center for people with dementia:
Caregivers can have respite. Caregivers can take short breaks or do something else while a family member of a person with dementia attends a health center activity. This can avoid the caregiver's physical and mental exhaustion, causing adverse effects on physical health. Adult Wellness Centers provide opportunities for families of people with dementia to connect with others and participate in safe, staffed activities such as sports, music lessons, crafts and other recreational programs. These activities have a positive impact on the patient's social, physical and psychological development, appetite and sleep.
